Seeding Aadhaar with ICICI Bank Account

The Reserve Bank of India has asked all the banks in India to offers the customers the option to link their Aadhaar with the bank account. Seeding Aadhaar to your bank account has become mandatory for all. It is because linking Aadhaar with the bank accounts can provide you a lot of benefits of varied schemes which are launched by the Central and the State Government. Various schemes such as the LPG Subsidy scheme and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana can be availed only if your Aadhaar is linked to your Bank Account. This will help the Government in identifying people who are in need of subsidies and welfare payments. ICICI Bank is providing both online and offline modes of linking the Aadhaar with the bank account.

 

The Documents That Are Required For The Linking

You need a hard copy or a photocopy of your Aadhaar card and the Bank account statement. This step is required if you are planning to link Aadhaar with your ICICI Bank Account offline. If you are linking it online then you don't require a hard copy, you just need your 12 - digit Aadhaar number and the net banking details.

Offline Mode of Seeding Your Aadhaar with the ICICI Bank Account

 

• Firstly, make sure that you have your original and photocopy of the Aadhaar and the bank details. You can use the E-Aadhaar if you have. Visit the official Aadhaar website and download the form 3.   Form 3 is a request form for linking Aadhaar with the Bank account. Fill in the form with required details and enter your 12 digits unique Aadhaar number with your Bank Account Information from your Bank Passbook.
• Once you are done with all the formalities, visit the nearest ICICI Bank Branch and submit the Form 3 along with the photocopy of your E-Aadhaar or the Aadhaar card. The bank officials verify all the documents and form and after the cross-checking of the documents, your Aadhaar will be updated with your ICICI Bank Account.

 

Online Mode of Aadhaar Seeding with the ICICI Bank Account

 

 

The steps for linking Aadhaar with the Bank account is given below:

 

• Visit the official website of ICICI Net banking here
  
• Enter your Username and Password.
• Now click on the Customer Service Tab.
• Then select the service request.
• Click on the Bank Account Service Request.
• Select the account details
• Click on the modification related
• Request for the “Update Aadhaar Number in Savings”
• In the last link, you have to enter the Aadhaar details and click on Submit.

 

This links your Aadhaar card with your Bank Account. The customers must have internet banking options to perform Online Mode of Aadhaar seeding. The details will be provided by the ICICI Bank system and they will verify it manually.  If all the information that you have provided is correct then you will get a confirmation message from the ICICI Bank via SMS on your registered mobile number or email address.
